Running

Dear Runner Lovers,

This morning, I went running down to the bridge overlooking the water.  I did five miles, it was freezing.  Standing on the bridge, I felt like the wind was going to knock me over! So, I went to the gym, hopped in the sauna and afterwards i did a little elliptical.  Even though the weather is cold, the scenery is gorgeous outside! :D

Here we go!

Dear Runner Lovers,

I know it has been a while since a post, but I was just so busy away in Haiti and coming back to a new semester of college!  Thank you for your patience and support everyone.

Finally, it is time to start marathon training again.  I want my next 26.2 race to be a surprise for you, but I will give y'all a hint... it is in May and the course is absolutely gorgeous!  In addition to that, there may possibly be a half-marathon in March.

I feel like this time around, training will be awesome.  It has been a year since my stress fractures in the feet, so they are officially healed and grown back together (fingers crossed).  In addition to that, I feel like after every marathon I do (no matter how fast) I always learn something important that will help me improve.  I am so excited about my races for this spring/summer!

Next week, I hope to get back in the interview publishing rhythm!

Today, after a couple classes it was so pretty outside I did four miles down to the lake!  My favorite, I missed running to the bridge overlooking the water during winter break!

Happy Running!

TRI

Dear Runner Lovers,

I just received a very informative email from Red Zeppelin Productions, a Springfield Virginia based company.  They just made a movie about a triathlete's journey.  Here is some of the email I received from Michael.

I'm writing on behalf of Red Zeppelin Productions, a film production company in the Washington, DC metro area. We are preparing for the release of our feature film, TRI, the first narrative feature film about the sport of triathlon. Our award-winning film is an inspirational drama that primarily appeals to young women and those who live an active lifestyle

Natalie (Award-winning actress Jensen Jacobs), an ultrasound tech with a history of not finishing things, is inspired by a cancer patient to sign up for her first triathlon. Natalie is introduced to the strange (and aerodynamic) world of triathletes and meets a colorful cast of characters as she trains for the Nation’s Triathlon. With the support of her new teammates, she digs deep to discover just how far she can push her mind and body.

The film is available now for pre-order, and releases in the US and Canada on Amazon, google Play, ONDEMAND, and other platforms December 1, 2016 - it will make a great gift for the holidays!

TRI will also be available in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland January 23, 2017.

Here is the movie trailer:

I looked up where the movie is going to be screened in select theaters.  I was really intrigued by the opening night, that's sold out... in RICHMOND, VIRGINIA.   You can actually meet the Director Calvin Jai Jamison, during that premier event weekend.  I researched and read all about Calvin Jai Jamison, and he is actually from RICHMOND VIRGINIA, and studied at Oxford University and American University’s MFA Film program.  Here is a link to his website where you can see more of his work, http://www.jaijamison.com/about/

I hope everyone found this to be very informative.

Running in Pretty Places

Dear Runner Lovers,

Today, I did a 7 mile run!  It was cold, but I can still wear a t-shirt with long pants. I listened to the Annie Lennox Christmas album on my run, love her!  The scenery was just gorgeous.  I wanted to post some pictures from running around this week.  I hope you enjoy!
