Running hard for 1:15 this weekend made me wish that it had been a sanctioned half marathon. To think I could be racing for my career, however in the mean time I am running for my job in a different way. When all my races are back in real life post covid I will be in shape and want it even more than before, because I need to take my sport back. There are so many impacted by covid, but I still dream of my post covid running career and what would have been if covid never happened. Hopefully the next two years of running bring sub 2:30 marathons and 1:10 half marathon times for all us runners. We will all place top three in something!

I baked these for my cheat day, and dinner with my sister. 😊

I carved a Cinderella pumpkin, The Nightmare Before Christmas pumpkin, baby Yoda, and a castle with Tinker Bell and Elsa and Bell! 🎃

The past two days I have run ten miles of hills on hills. This is really going to get me ready for whatever time trial I do two weeks from now. I think that I have a cold year of playing catch up and racing ahead of me post covid. I feel lucky to have my career and elite marathon runner career to keep me busy or take my mind off of my ex-relationship that ended before covid started. Hopefully, I win everything that I run and do 2:30 and 1:10 this year. I really hope that covid ends soon, as I cannot stand the covid lifestyle anymore, we all need real life again. Everything needs to be better than it would have been three years ago! Something so good will happen, I will not even be thinking about covid prison, maybe this is why I saved traveling for world major marathons for this year after covid. I want to win all of my races and enjoy being in my phd program. Certainly, it will be worth being in shape again if I win everything. All this anticipation just makes my desire to win and passion for my sport even stronger.

Run to win!

On my run today, I finished ten miles which was excellent. I am very sad to hear the MDI Marathon has officially been canceled. However, I hope people can still head up to MDI and run along the course in peak foliage. My favorite weekend of my life was running the MDI marathon in peak foliage the weekend of a super moon. I Love Maine.

Tonight, I played around with clipart which was fun or silly. I am thinking about sketching and framing this design that I have made just for my room decoration. I think that all these symbols represent things about my career, marathon+violin+phd. The reason that I love olive branches, is because my Tiffany marathon band that I have had for about ten years and wear everyday is an olive leaf design, because marathon runner’s wear olive leaf crowns for a profound purpose. Peace and tranquility and inner-peace are the concepts that my olive leaf marathon ring make me feel. Being a marathon runner helped me to find inner-peace in life and move forward into a new life. Though I am not an artist, I love to play around with being crafty, this design is fun for me to play around with.

It is really depressing to have poured my heart and soul into my marathon career, and covid took trials&boston&NYC&etc away from me these past two years. If I run 2:30ish and 1:10ish the next year, I will be happy with my tenish year marathon career. I really left off in the marathon before covid with the intention of a half, trials, and Boston, my phd&mba. Covid really made me stubborn with my goals yet flexible with my methods. There just is not really a way for me to have my life during this epidemic and I am not willing to degrade myself. Hopefully my covidless races and covidless school happen pretty soon. I am honestly really struggling with keeping the hope of this all ending and life coming back to normal.

I hope to race November 7th without covid.

On my run today, I thought about if I ever lost my run contract it is a good thing my sister and I look like twins so I could just steal her race bib to run a shockingly fast time. Wouldn’t that be the funniest thing ever?

I loved going to the market today and buying everything fresh. We have so many cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, and I am making pumpkin puree out of fresh squash and baby pumpkins this weekend. The key to being a well seasoned runner is eating well seasoned food, or everything fresh. I even like to bake my own muffins, so I know that the ingredients are fresh and healthy. Running makes you so healthy, because running optimizes your fitness and forces you to have a fresh & healthy diet. Marathon runner’s like it fresh.

This weekend I will be getting my three hour runs in, and enjoying every minute of it! Come November, I am going to be so ready to toe the line.

To start off my first, I went on a five mile leisurely run.

On my run, the idea came to me to make shorts of about ten measures each of my Four Seasons pieces, for my private students to play. We can film the recital of them playing my composed shorts. These shorts will be the fun parts, but broken down into slower playable variations separated by open notes with a bow circle, for my private violin students. Typically in the fall the only thing I do private lessons for is essential elements, a Minuet in Suzuki, scales, a NYSMA solo, perhaps a Christmas song. However, I feel like if I make the shorts into practice pieces, they can be recital or audition pieces in the springtime which would be very cool for my private students to attain. Everyone can have their music in front of them, play dress up, and it will be slow and playable for the level my private students tend to be on which is very nice.

I plan on doing my studio sessions by fall/winter and late winter, and having the videos of me playing each piece individually outside in the ambiance of a correlating season finished by springtime. The videos will be live of course, while the studio session will sound like they were recorded in a studio. Hopefully, Summer can be recorded on the beach somewhere sunny, during the winter. Next summer, I would like to perform all four pieces of Four Seasons at once for my ‘big recital’.

My Four Seasons project really is going to be a powerful experience for my year post the nightmare of covid.

On less serious terms, I am shopping for a new bow with rose gold hardware, which is fun seeing all the new high tech bows on the market these days.

What ideas will I have on my long run tomorrow?!
