Running

Dear Runner Lovers,

This morning, I went on a run for five miles outside and then came back home to finish my log run inside.  So, I did two hours on the treadmill, after the outdoor adventure.  Then, I made a fruit salad with strawberries, mango, blueberries, pineapple and melon. It's been a pretty good day so far!

I went out to dinner last night, and there was a band with a string bass playing!  I just loved it! During college, I completely stopped doing anything musical related.  However, you may be surprised to find out, back in the day... I started taking private violin lessons when I was five and then did string-bass in high school to be in symphonic band.  Strings are my favorite!! Earlier today, I decided to play something on my violin for fun, and on my music stand was the old string-bass solo that I composed... it was pretty exciting stuff!

I hope everyone is feeling fabulous!

Running

Dear Runner Lovers,

Today, I went on a five mile run in the morning and a five mile run at night!  The weather was a little freezing, but that's fine.  This weekend I am hoping to fit in two long runs.  If the weather is really snowy, I'll just have to use my treadmill.

I hope everyone is feeling fabulous!

Hiking up Tumbledown Mountain

Dear Runner Lovers,

Over the weekend all of us hikers in SJC Outdoor Adventure Club went on a hike up Tumbledown Mountain!  It was a glorious sunny day for a hike, and all of the foliage was in peak!

I hope everyone is feeling fabulous!

Happy Hiking!

The Maine Marathon

Dear Runner Lovers,

Over the weekend, I finished The Maine Marathon 26.2! The weather was perfect, and I loved looking at the water all along the course, especially running over the bridge.  My medal is sky blue, and looks like my race day.  Running in pretty places helps me run the entire 26.2.

My parents came all the way from New York, picked me up from school, and then we went to the Expo! I love all of my new gear!

After the race expo, we went out to dinner in Portland at Boone's Fish and Oyster House.  I ordered blueberry/peach sangria with lobster mac and cheese! My parents ordered the oysters and stuffed lobster.

This is me, right before the start of the marathon! There were so many runners, the half, relay, and full marathoners all start together.

My parents met me at mile 20! We never decided on a designated spectating spot, so this was a happy surprise!

My mom took a video of me at mile 26, the final stretch! They were so excited!

Then, I finished the 26.2 with a bunch of girls my age, it was so funny we all finished at the same time. We took pictures for eachother in front of the Maine Marathon backdrop.

My parents took one last picture, dropping me back off at school!

Here's how many steps it takes to run a full marathon!!

Happy Running!!
