Why I Love Pillars so Much?

Back in the day, my fun guy to date, told me that when I finally studied abroad I would have to go see L'église de la Madeleine. He loved that my name was the same as this cathedral, and told me all about the 52 pillars for the 52 weeks of the year. He said he would take me by the hand and bring me to Paris to see it one day. Young love is the best kind. Here I am years later still waiting, perhaps after the epidemic. In the meantime, no random guy can come along and ruin our love for pillars in Paris by trying to steal our thing. We wanted to make a gingerbread house back then, with 52 candy canes as the pillars of L'église de la Madeleine, maybe that will happen someday too. My gingerbread houses have not been intricate enough to do justice for the L'église de la Madeleine. Gingerbread houses are actually our special thing we did dating, he never really thought about them before me. So funny, I’m giggling letting everyone know ways to pick up a girl named Madeleine on a good day. Maybe, I’ll run the Paris Marathon, I’ll probably have someone french braid my hair before the next marathon to the very least, add some satin ribbon. I love having satin ribbon in my hair when I run, it’s my thing. Attractive for a runner…. what is it?

Between the Madeline books, and the name of L'église de la Madeleine, my speaking french as a second language, of course he wishes Paris had happened to this day.

My best french memory, was a party at our professor’s house. I brought a chocolate pizza, and chocolate fountain, we had horderves, and decided to donate our entire french club budget to The Catholic Relief Services whilst watching La Belle et la Bête. One time I had an entire event, with great anticipation, and only my professor showed up. The only club event that I could get anyone to go to was making valentines for soldiers in French & English with foam heart stickers, we mailed out hundreds of valentines, and some of those who came were my friends from outside of the club for the sake of the event. The things a guy has to accomplish to receive a valentine these days… That chocolate party was a hit I suppose; big decisions were made amongst the five of us and I got to be president of a club. Thank god, all I have to do now is read french literature for pleasure in spare time.

Coolest Club Ever.

We physically cut out all of these hearts from poster board! Some soldiers had an excellent Valentines Day that year, all because of this lady gang of french extraordinaries. Lots of rounds of coloring, to finish all of them.
