Dear Runner Lovers,
We have been putting together my marathon training plan. Unfortunately a lot of these winter months will just be on an indoor track (hopefully not getting shin-splints from it) and treadmill treadmill treadmill. Which is fine, because it is all focusing on being one consistent pace and sometimes its good not having to worry about tripping on a trail or outdoor obstacle. Nice and safe indoor training. It is all good as long as the important month is all outside, right?!
So right now, I am probably at like 70 miles a week, so that will increase and then decrease through the next three and a half months.
Weekends are high mileage and then Monday and Fridays are mix it up days! Those days are typically for swimming, stationary bike or elliptical. This time around I have decided to add something a little special, because why not?! Even though I have not really been doing ballet for a couple years, I just found a very nice group of women to do adult classes with! I started taking ballet lessons when I was three and then stopped during my teens. Everyone is in the same boat, just wanting to get dance back in their life for personal enjoyment after taking a break. This is going to be awesome. There really is no better way to strengthen your core, ankles and feet than ballet. I ordered some Gaynor Minden Joy Slippers! Yay, I am so excited to dance! :)
Sometimes you just need to do something that will make you happy! It also makes me feel good to have the next few months of my training written down in a planner, so now all I have to do is follow the schedule up to my big race.
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Here's some pictures of me walking to the gym. I did an hour and fifteen minutes on the treadmill and abs!
